LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jordan Lynch has been named to the 2025 NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year Top 25 list, the NFCA announced Friday morning.
Lynch has made an immediate impact since arriving in Blacksburg. One of four Hokies to start all 44 games, Lynch is second on the team with a .397 batting average and her .463 batting average through ACC play leads the Hokies.
She is one of three Hokies to surpass 50 hits on the season (54) along with seven home runs and 35 RBIs. Her team-leading 16 doubles are also two away from tying the all-time single-season program record.
The Rising Sun, Md., native has been crucial in some of Tech's biggest wins this season. She hit a three-RBI double in Tech’s 8-4 win over No. 23 Virginia and went 3-for-3 with four RBIs in the Hokies’ 6-0 win over No. 24 Liberty.
Through 44 games, Lynch also has a .684 slug percentage and a .443 on base percentage.
Lynch is Virginia Tech’s sixth student-athlete to represent the Hokies on the Freshman of the Year Top 25 list – tied for the ninth most by a school in Division I. She is also just one of two players to be named to the list from the ACC.
On May 8, the list will be trimmed to the top 10 and the three finalists will be released on May 22. The winner will be revealed on May 27.
