BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech men's basketball is set to compete next season in the 2025 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis, the tournament announced Thursday.
The three-day event will take place Nov. 26-28 at Imperial Arena in Paradise Islands, Bahamas. Joining the Hokies in the field are Saint Mary’s, Vanderbilt, South Florida, VCU, Colorado State, Western Kentucky and Wichita State. Additional details — including matchups, ticket information, game times and broadcast coverage — will be announced at a later date.
While this marks Virginia Tech’s first appearance in the Battle 4 Atlantis, the Hokies are no strangers to the venue. They previously played at Imperial Arena during the inaugural Battle at Atlantis on Dec. 18, 2010, when they cruised past Mississippi State 88-57 behind five double-figure scorers: Malcolm Delaney, Dorenzo Hudson, Jeff Allen, Erick Green and Manny Atkins.
Several ACC programs have competed in the event, including Duke, Florida State, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Syracuse and Wake Forest. In last year’s championship game, Louisville fell to Oklahoma 69-64.
About Imperial Arena:
Imperial Arena, also known as the Imperial Ballroom, is a versatile event space located within the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in Nassau, Bahamas. Owned by Kerzner International and designed by HKS Architects, it opened in November 2007 and can accommodate up to 3,500 guests. While primarily serving as a ballroom and convention space, the Imperial Arena is renowned for its transformation into a basketball venue for the annual Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. This conversion involves installing a regulation basketball court and seating, creating an intimate setting with a 26-foot ceiling, one of the lowest among college basketball venues.
