Hokies host Last Chance Meet

The Hokie men hosted the VT Last Chance Meet, posting two top-ten times and one pool record.

BLACKSBURG, Va.- In the last home meet of the season, the eight competing Hokies posted two program top ten times and one pool record. 

 

In the 200 back finals, Levente Balogh posted a 1:40.62, which set a new CAC pool record. In prelims, Nico Garcia recorded a 1:41.80 and Balogh swam a 1:45.22. 

Tanish George Mathew swam a personal best 19.40 in 50 free prelims, moving up to a program fifth-best time.  

Will Hayon and Gabriel Yuk competed in the 100 fly, where Yuk posted a 45.63 in prelims. The time was good for sixth best in the record book. In finals, Hayon recorded a 46.14. 

Luis Dominguez posted a 1:33.12 in the 200 free prelims, followed by Jakub Poliacik with a 1:34.52. In finals, Dominguez clocked a 1:36.93 and Poliacik posted a 1:34.58

Joseph Hong took on the 200 breast, where he swam a 1:55.63 in prelims and 1:58.24 in finals. 

 

Next Up- The women head to Federal Way, Washington to compete in the NCAA Championships March 19-22.
