DALLAS, Texas – Tech falls 4-3 to the SMU Mustangs on Sunday afternoon.
Three Hokies picked up singles wins to keep Tech in the match. Mila Mulready was the first Hokie to win in Dallas, with a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 three-setter over Kayla Schefke of SMU. Tara Gorinsek grabbed another three-set victory as she defeated Ellie Pittman of SMU, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1. Laima Frosch had the third win of the afternoon for the Hokies, with a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Millie Skelton of SMU.
Özlem Uslu and Arina Gamretkaia were battling the third set to try and grab the win for the Hokies before ultimately falling to their opponents.
Tech fell in doubles after losses on Court 1 and 3. On Court 2, Gamretkaia and Gorinsek were up 4-2 when SMU clinched the doubles point.
UP NEXT: Tech remains on the road as they travel to North Carolina next weekend to compete against NC State on Friday, March 7 at 2 p.m.
