CONWAY, S.C. – The Hokies return to the win column with a 4-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.
Tech traveled down to Conway, South Carolina for a midweek match with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Three Hokies picked up sweeps in singles and new doubles pairings found success to shut out the Chanticleers.
The doubles point went the way of the Hokies as freshmen Linda Ziets-Segura and Mila Mulready teamed up for the first time to secure a 6-3 win on Court 3. Turkey natives, Semra Aksu and Özlem Uslu clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory.
In singles, Laima Frosch and Mila Mulready both grabbed their third win in the last four matches. Frosch won her match over Katya Hersh 6-2, 6-1 while Mulready defeated Sarah Clark 6-3, 6-3.
Semra Aksu grabbed the clinching point for Tech with a 7-6(5), 6-2 win over Nicole Abel.
