TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 15/17 Virginia Tech fell to No. 21/23 Alabama, 9-1, on the final day of the Easton Bama Bash.

How It Happened: Alabama 9, Virginia Tech 1
Alabama got on the board early with two runs in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded and two outs, Alabama’s Marlie Giles hit a blooper single to left field to extend the Crimson Tide lead to 4-0.

The Crimson Tide added three more runs before the Hokies crossed home plate. In the top of the fifth, Lyla Blackwell doubled down the left field line to bring in Bre Peck and make it 7-1.

Despite scoring a run in the top of the fifth, the Crimson Tide tallied two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the 9-1 win.
