BLACKSBURG – The Hokies drop their second match of the weekend with a 4-0 loss to No. 19 Clemson.
Tech drops their first doubles point of the season since their opening match against Duke. The doubles pairings of Arina Gamretkaia and Tara Gorinsek and Semra Aksu and Linda Ziets-Segura both fell 6-4 to the Tigers. Charlotte Cartledge and Özlem Uslu were tied 4-4 against Parravinici and Smejkalova when the point was clinched.
Three Hokies fell in straight sets in singles to give Clemson the 4-0 win. Uslu was up 6-1, 6-6(5-2) in the second set tiebreak, about to clinch her match when it was abandoned.
