Aerospace Engineering student, Vinay Belagodu, is frequently seen in the stands supporting our sports teams. In his second year at Virginia Tech, he shares what he loves about campus and the Hokies in this month's edition of the Student Hokie Club Member of the Month!

Q: Major? Why did you choose this major?

VB: Aerospace Engineering. I chose Aerospace engineering because I found space shuttles, planes and just how things work from a young age to be really cool and I wanted to pursue it as a career.

Q: Where are you from?

VB: Yardley, Pennsylvania.

Q: Why did you choose to attend Virginia Tech?

VB: I chose to go to Virginia Tech because it’s a beautiful campus, and it’s full of the kind of people that you want to be around, the kind that push you to be the best version of yourself. It was really just a gut feeling I had when I did my first college visit.

Q: Favorite part about going to VT Athletics events?

VB: The friends that I’ve made at the various games and the fact that you can connect by supporting the Hokies, despite having different backgrounds is really cool. Also, getting to enjoy sports with others is a lot of fun.

Q: Favorite Virginia Tech tradition?

VB: My favorite tradition has got to be touching the Game Ball before football games.

Q: Which Virginia Tech team do you follow the most and why?

VB: I follow the football team the most. I was born and raised a Philadelphia Eagles fan and grew up following professional football. So when I got to Blacksburg, it was natural for me to follow football the most since that’s the sport I’ve been watching my entire life.

Q: Favorite past or current Hokie athlete?

VB: Liz Kitley.

Q: What’s your favorite Virginia Tech sports moment or game?

VB: 2024 Virginia Tech vs Georgia Tech Homecoming football game since I was a part of the team that ran homecoming, and so that game has probably been my favorite game.
