“We are very excited to add Peyton to our program at Virginia Tech,” head coach Chugger Adair said. “She is a tremendous player with a great deal of upside in the college game. She is strong in possession, has good movement off the ball and is a quality technical player who’s going to help us play through all the lines of the game. She is perfectly suited to have success at the college level and we can’t wait to have her here.”
Why did you choose Virginia Tech? The coaching staff and the team made me feel right at home on my first visit and I loved the encouraging and competitive atmosphere amongst the program. I fell in love with the beautiful campus and felt that Tech met and exceeded all my needs as both a student and an athlete. Being at Tech allows me to play the most competitive soccer in the country and grow as an athlete, student and person each year.
What was your favorite thing about your visit? Meeting all of the girls for the first time and being able to connect with the current team was my favorite part of our class visit. Spending time with my future teammates was so much fun and gives me a lot to look forward to in 2025.
What excites you the most about being part of Virginia Tech women’s soccer? The amazing coaching staff, team environment, and the strength of the ACC will push me to be a better soccer player each day. I love the style of play that Tech has established and the aggressiveness and quickness of which they play. I am so excited to play on Thompson Field in front of the Hokie fans under the lights.
What are some strengths of yours on the soccer field? My soccer strengths are my awareness on the field and my ability to play passes in a variety of ways and over various distances, as well as my aerial threat I pose defensively and on set pieces.
Who is your favorite pro player and why? My favorite pro player is Naomi Girma because of her defensive presence on the field and her ability to be patient in possession and find the right pass under pressure to jumpstart the attack.
What do you plan on majoring in? I plan on majoring in Exercise and Health Sciences.
What is one thing you want Virginia Tech fans to know about you? My parents will never let me forget the day I came home from preschool and told them that I was going to “Hokie College” and now here I am!
