DURHAM, N.C. – Following a hard-fought contest against Duke in its regular season road finale, Virginia Tech football spoke to the media on Saturday evening. Head coach Brent Pry addressed the media to reflect on the matchup, and defensive captain Dorian Strong followed him at the podium. Read and watch below to see what they had to say:

Head Coach Brent Pry

On Pop Watson stepping in to play against Duke:
"I'm proud of pop. To go into that situation never really played in a game. Meaningful snaps and to go out there, he made some good throws. He made some plays with his feet. There's certainly gonna be some reads he'd like back and there's gonna be a couple throws he'd like back. But he gave us a chance. We did enough things to take the lead and to be in it down the stretch and to have the ball with a chance to go win the thing, to tie it or win it. So I thought in his first effort, we'll look at that thing and be proud of what he did, certainly some areas to improve on."

Cornerback Dorian Strong

On moving forward from the loss:
"Don't hang your head, don't be sad, don't sulk. And I'm gonna make sure I put that message out there because we gotta get bowl-eligible. Like you're only promised one more. And like you said, no team will ever be the same two years back to back. And saying, we had a pretty unique thing going on or whatever, but no team is gonna be the same. So, we just got to go out here, play balls to the walls, and just play, put it all out there on the line."
