OUR PROGRAM
Tech has qualified for 13 NCAA Championships and has sent 18 individual athletes to the Singles Championships and six pairings to the Doubles Championships.
Mayo is a 1996 NCAA All-American, after making it to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Championships. He ranked as high as No. 34 by the ITA College Tennis Rankings. Mayo was the 1996 A-10 Player of the Year, and a 2x All-Atlantic 10 honoree during his time at Tech.
Marchetti is a 1999 NCAA All-American, after making it to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Championships. He ranked as high as No. 15 by the ITA College Tennis Rankings. Marchetti was a 3x A-10 Player of the Year honoree, as well as a 4x All-Atlantic 10 honoree during his time at Tech.
Monteiro is in the books as one of the highest achieving athletes in Virginia Tech tennis history. In 2016, he was named an All-American with his run to the NCAA Final Four. He ranked as high as No. 9 by the ITA College Tennis Rankings. During Monteiro's time at Tech, he was a 3x All-ACC honoree.
Marchetti joined the Hokies coaching staff in 2023. He is one of three All-American in Tech's men's tennis history, being inducted into the 2009 Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements as a player. Prior to coaching the Hokies, Marchetti served as the Director of Player Development and Coaching at Edmond Center Court.
Webb joined the Hokies coaching staff in 2023. He played at Florida State as a four-year letter winner. In his final season with the Seminoles, he was awarded All-ACC honors as the team finished that season as ACC runner-ups.
