OUR PROGRAM

At Virginia Tech, we compete in the country's toughest lacrosse league - the ACC.

ACC clubs have won three of the last four NCAA national titles. In 2025, seven ACC teams earned bids to the postseason tournament, the most of any conference.

Kristen Skiera - Head Coach

  • Owns four ranked wins, including over No. 11 Syracuse in 2025
  • Trained two All-Americans at Virginia Tech and seven different All-ACC athletes

Success under Skiera

  • The Hokies won the program's second ever ACC Tournament game under her leadership in 2023.
  • Led the squad to the program's second ever ACC season with three or more victories in 2025.
  • Several athletes have put their name in the program record book for individual records including top tens in points in a game, assists in a game, goals in a game, goals in a season and Skiera's athletes own the top three spots in the VT record book for draw controls in a single season.

In 2025, Jacobitti mentored midfielder Mia Pozzi who earned All-ACC and All-Conference recognition after recording 37 goals and 17 assists on the season. She was also a member of the draw team, leading the squad with 51 draw controls. Working primarily with midfielders, Jacobitti was integral in Virginia Tech’s most successful season with draw controls in program history during the 2023 campaign. Freshman Sarah Gresham’s 111-mark broke Virginia Tech’s single-season draw control record, while sophomore Olivia Vergano eclipsed 106. The Hokies were the only team last season in NCAA DI women’s lacrosse with two players with over 5.5 draw controls per game.

In the 2025 season with Paige’s leadership, Hokie goalies tallied 177 saves and allowed one less goal against per game than their opponents. Tech's shot stoppers also saw an increase in save percentage compared to the 2024 season. Graduate keeper Aaliyah Jones, started in 16 out the Hokies 18 matchups this season, finished with a 8-8 record while recording a .443 save percentage on 487 shots faced, tallying 160 saves.

During the 2025 season, Dunphey's defense helped hold a potent Syracuse offense to just 11 goals in the program's biggest upset in years as the Hokies took down the 11th-ranked Orange at Thompson Field. Some standout performances from the defense came from Caroline Little who recorded 38 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers and Zoee Stencil registered 30 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers. Dunphey, a native of Ridgewood, N.J., wrapped up her collegiate career in the spring of 2024 with the Hokies following a four-year stint at Villanova. In four seasons of play, the defender appeared in 68 contests and made 65 starts.

THOMPSON FIELD

The home of the Hokies features seating for more than 2,000 fans, with open areas around the venue allowing for another 1,500 to watch. The facility also features an operations center for the broadcasting of games on the ACC Network, a bluegrass playing surface, and recently enhanced lighting and audio systems.
