BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech redshirt freshman cornerback Jahre Cheeseman will have surgery Friday afternoon at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He will have his left knee scoped for a lateral meniscus tear. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Marc Siegel.

Head athletic trainer Mike Goforth estimates Cheeseman will be out three to six weeks.
